What is Manual Osteopathy?

Manual osteopathy is a form of holistic manual treatment that emphasizes the relationship between the structure and function of the human body. Manual osteopaths focus on restoring balance to the body by reducing pain and inflammation and increasing strength in order to allow the body to heal itself, and gradually improve overall function. Manual Osteopathy is best known for neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders such as back and neck pain, sciatica, sporting injuries, and postural strain. However, some such as myself focus a lot on foot health, TMJ dysfunction, and Pelvic control.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I wear shoes with my orthotics?

Yes, you can. Since your orthotics are specially made for your fitting, you can use them with your shoes and during activities.

6. IS MY THERAPIST LICENSED?

Pysiotherapy (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) are licensed by their respective states.

2. How long should I wear my orthotics?

Resilient Physiotherapy clinicians will advise the right time frame for wearing your custom orthotics according to your overall needs. You will also be advised about the best length and times to wear your orthotics after a thorough evaluation.

3. What is the difference between custom orthotics and over-the-counter orthotics?

Custom orthotics from Resilient Physiotherapy are made only after a thorough assessment and analysis of your specific condition to ensure everything is done right.

4. What do orthotics feel like?

Since custom orthotics realign the functions of your feet, you may feel pressure under the arch of your foot. These sensations indicate that your orthotics are working and should fade over time.

5. WHY IS PHYSIOTHERAPY A GOOD CHOICE??

Physiotherapy treats both pain and its source, addressing movement and neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. It effectively relieves pain by correcting underlying movement issues.
